Hirsutism Treatment

Facial hirsutism is when women grow excess hair on the face, often in areas like the chin, upper lip, or cheeks. It can also appear on the chest, lower stomach, or back. This condition affects around 5--10% women in Western societies according to the British Association of Dermatologists.

While it’s common, it can cause emotional distress, including low confidence and anxiety.

At PharmXtra, we offer clinically approved treatments to help manage and reduce unwanted facial hair. All options are available through a confidential online consultation with fast, discreet delivery.

More Information

Hirsutism is a condition characterised by excessive hair growth in areas where hair is typically more pronounced in males, such as the face, chest, and back, in women. It is often caused by an imbalance of hormones, particularly increased levels of androgens like testosterone. Hirsutism can be distressing for individuals and may affect self-esteem and quality of life.

While hirsutism cannot always be cured, it can be effectively managed with treatments that target the underlying cause and reduce excessive hair growth. Treatment options may vary depending on the severity of the condition and the individual's health status. It is essential to work closely with a healthcare provider to develop a treatment plan that meets individual needs.

There are natural approaches that may help manage hirsutism symptoms and reduce excessive hair growth. These include dietary changes, such as consuming foods rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients, and maintaining a healthy weight. Some individuals may find relief from symptoms by managing stress levels through practices like yoga or meditation. It is important to note that you should always consult with your doctor to ensure that natural treatments are safe and suitable for your condition.

Hirsutism treatment aims to reduce excessive hair growth and manage associated symptoms. Treatment options may include medications to block the effects of androgens, oral contraceptives to regulate hormone levels, or topical treatments to reduce hair growth. In more severe cases, procedures like laser hair removal or electrolysis may be recommended.

Hirsutism treatments come in various forms, including oral medications, topical creams or gels, and medical procedures. Oral medications such as anti-androgens or oral contraceptives are commonly used to regulate hormone levels. Topical treatments may include creams containing eflornithine, which can help slow down hair growth. Medical procedures like laser hair removal or electrolysis provide longer-term solutions for hair reduction.

Many hirsutism medications require a prescription from a healthcare provider. You should always consult with your doctor or healthcare provider for advice on whether a medication is suitable for you. Please note that at EU Meds, all requests for the supply of prescription medications are subject to an online clinical consultation, and the decision to prescribe will be made by a doctor.

I have to give Customer Service a shoutout. Unusually my parcel didn’t arrive in the 1 or 2 days. This was an issue with Yodel and unfortunately it landed during the Easter holiday. However, as soon as Customer Services were back in the office they got in touch with Yodel and my parcel was delivered the next day. I have to say that I normally get a great service from Yodel as well.
