More Information

Pain is a complex sensory and emotional experience typically associated with tissue damage or injury. It can manifest in various forms, including sharp, dull, throbbing, or aching sensations, and can be localised or widespread. Pain serves as a protective mechanism, alerting the body to potential harm and prompting appropriate responses to prevent further injury.

While pain itself is not always curable, its underlying causes can often be addressed, leading to relief or reduction in symptoms. Treatment approaches may vary depending on the type and severity of pain, as well as individual factors such as health status and medical history. Managing pain often involves a combination of interventions aimed at addressing both physical and psychological aspects.

Yes, there are natural approaches to help manage pain and alleviate discomfort. These may include lifestyle modifications such as regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and practicing relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing exercises. Some individuals find relief from pain using natural remedies such as herbal supplements, acupuncture, or massage therapy. It is important to note that you should always consult with your doctor to ensure that natural treatments are safe and suitable for your condition.

Pain treatment encompasses a wide range of interventions aimed at reducing or alleviating pain symptoms. Depending on the cause and severity of pain, treatment options may include medications, physical therapy, injections, nerve blocks, or surgical procedures. The goal of pain treatment is to improve quality of life by managing pain effectively and restoring functionality.

The WHO Pain Ladder

The World Health Organization (WHO) analgesic ladder is a simple guide for managing pain using medication (Anekar et al, 2023). It was first developed in 1986 to help with cancer pain, but now it’s used for all types of pain relief. The ladder works in three steps:

Step 1:

Start with non-opioid painkillers like paracetamol or NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen).

Step 2:

If pain persists, add weak opioids like codeine or tramadol, with or without the non-opioid painkillers.

Step 3:

For severe pain, use stronger opioids like morphine or fentanyl, again with or without non-opioid painkillers.

Pain treatments come in various forms, including oral medications, topical creams or patches, injections, physical therapies, and surgical interventions. Oral medications such as pain relievers or anti-inflammatory drugs are commonly used to manage mild to moderate pain. Topical treatments may include creams or patches containing analgesic ingredients. In more severe cases, interventional procedures or surgical interventions may be necessary to address the underlying cause of pain.

Some pain medications are available over the counter, while others require a prescription from a healthcare provider. The need for a prescription depends on the type and strength of the medication, as well as regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions. You should always consult with your doctor or healthcare provider for advice on whether a medication is suitable for you. Please note that at EU Meds, all requests for the supply of prescription medications are subject to an online clinical consultation, and the decision to prescribe will be made by a doctor.

My package arrived just 24 hours after I placed the order, which is brilliant service by anybody's reckoning. The medication was a Uk recognised brand and the meds were 100% genuine. The consultation was very in-depth and I knew that a doctor had reviewed it, which is reassuring. If you create an account, your answers to your initial consultation are saved, negating the need to fill it in all over again...but you have to update it if anything health wise has changed. I would suggest ordering between Monday and Thursday and choose express shipping. You will then get your order that week providing their doctor approves your request. I ordered at 13.00 on Thursday and yodel handed me the order at 12.55 on Friday! Excellent service.
