A Zopiclone tablet works by affecting the way in which signals are sent to the brain causing you to feel sleepy. It reduces the amount of time it takes you to fall asleep and increases the length of time you spend sleeping, making it an effective treatment for a sleep disorder such as insomnia.

Insomnia and poor sleep are a common sleep problem and usually don't last very long. However, ongoing sleep deprivation can have negative effects such as; mental health changes, changes in mood, lack of motivation, irritability and lack of energy. Drowsiness during the day may affect your social life and occupation as the ability to concentrate will be reduced.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be a potential trigger for altered sleep patterns (Swanson et al, 2011).

If recommended by your healthcare provider or doctor, taking the prescription drug zopiclone allows your body to receive the rest it needs, resulting in a fewer or no negative effects experienced due to lack of sleep.

If you forget to take a dose immediately before bed but remember later in the night, only take the missed dose if you are still able to have 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. If this is not possible, do not take a dose. The next dose may be taken as normal the following night.

Do not take double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Every patient suffering from a sleep disorder / insomnia has a unique individual experience when taking Zolpiclone as a treatment.

User Reviews for Zopiclone

There are many Zopiclone user reviews available at Drugs.com and iWantGreatCare.org.

Typically, one Zopiclone tablet should be taken immediately before bed. You may be advised only to take a tablet 2 or 3 times a week to prevent your body from becoming dependent on the drug. Your doctor or healthcare provider will be able to offer expert advice on Zopiclone usage prior to starting any treatment which is why it is important to always consult them first.

Zopiclone 7.5mg

Zopiclone is available in one strength, Zopiclone 7.5mg. Depending on the severity, your doctor will decide on a suitable strength for you to take.

Zopiclone 3.75mg

Elderly patients who are over 65 years old or have kidney and/or liver problems may be recommended a lower dose of 3.75mg Zopiclone (NHS, 2022).

Zopiclone 15mg

Typically, the starting maximum dose for adults is 7.5mg daily. If your doctor prescribes 15mg, two 7.5mg tablets could be taken. A higher Zopiclone dose will only be considered as a last resort for patients with severe or persistent insomnia, and if no response is seen for the lower doses (Stewart, M., 2023) .
